Systems Engineer

   Main Purpose of Role
Provide technical leadership in directing the efforts of the project team in the development and production release of all relevant engineering deliverables in compliance with the product development process and customer expectations.  Responsible for the development of the system design from concept to production through the transformation of customer needs into actionable requirements for the functional disciplines (e.g., electrical, mechanical, software) and ensure the end product meets stated requirements.
Primary technical interface with customer on all technical issues.
Provide development team leadership for technical issues & reporting to Management.
Lead development team to ensure project requirements & timing objectives are achieved. 
Act as primary technical interface with management for project team to communication project status.
Create product architecture, decompose customer/internal requirements in lower level requirements.
Ensure that all requirements are documented, traceable and product meets all requirements.



Main Duties
Act as primary technical interface with customers to understand, analyse and negotiate customer requirements and change requests.
Provide development team leadership for technical issues, discussions (e.g., product architecture, requirements, problem resolution, trade-offs, DMEAs, Design Reviews).
Lead development team to ensure project requirements & timing objectives are achieved. 
Act as primary management interface and escalation for all product technically related issues.
Synthesize customer and internal requirements into a systems architecture.  Decompose high level requirements into electrical, mechanical and software requirements.
Ensure that all high level & low level requirements are documented, linked and traceable to customer requirements.
Ensure that a requirements compliance matrix is maintained, executed and final product meets all requirements.
Create and maintain systems test plans.
Support estimates and quotations for new projects.
Document, track and lead resolution to project open issues
Develop Proof-of-concept units as required.
Education, Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience regarding the Responsibility / Activities (listed above).
Strong technical knowledge of automotive electronics products.
Strong knowledge of System Engineering methodology.
Knowledge of embedded electronics and embedded software.
Knowledge of product development engineering practices in automotive field.
Working knowledge of ISO26262, APQP, CAN, LIN.
Experience with modelling tools (e.g., Matlab, Simulink).

  • Working knowledge of CAN and LIN based tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape .
  • Working knowledge of Requirements Management tools (e.g. DOORs, Polarion) .
  • Working knowledge of EMC.
