Key Account Manager

The business segment Powertrain & Chassis Products (P&C) serves the Kongsberg Automotive passenger car and commercial vehicle business with powertrain systems and chassis related products. These products are gear shifters for automatic & manual transmissions, shift cables & towers, gear & clutch control systems including actuators and chassis stabilizers.

Role description

As Key Account Manager, your main responsibility lies on the relationship with our customer and global truck OEM (with headquarter in Europe) within Powertrain & Chassis. The role manages all aspects of that relationship by ensuring that all transactions with the customer are consistent and communicated with a single voice. The Key Account Manager leads the Customer Focus Team in developing customer plans/roadmaps as guide to increase KA market share and develop marketing strategies that support new product development.

The positions involves building customer networks, establishing and maintaining intimate relationships with decision makers and key personnel within the Key Account, understanding the customer requirements (general and product specific) and targets, and secure new business wins to support the strategic plan within Powertrain & Chassis. You will, for example, initiate cost reduction programs (VAVE) internally and at customer to increase competitiveness, negotiate prices at customer, prepare/make offers, agreements and contracts and analyze competitor and customer trends to obtain information for future programs.

Candidate profile

You have a relevant BSc or BA degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Sales Account Manager in the automotive industry or equivalent. Preferably, you are familiar with European OEM’s in the commercial vehicle area and have a solid grasp of the automotive market, customers and business norms. Fluent in English, both verbal and written, is a requirement and Swedish is beneficial.

As a person, you have strong interpersonal skills, which makes it natural for you to lead and work within cross-functional teams on a global basis. Your personal drive and ability to communicate makes it easy for you to obtain and maintain strong relations both internal and external. We believe that you are entrepreneurial and result-oriented and make quick decisions based on a combination of experience as well as advice from other people. You are a calculated risk taker with the ability to think clearly under pressure and remain focused on the key objectives and strategies.
