Category SQD Engineer
The Supplier Quality Development (SQD) department is globally set up and managed by regional managers. In Europe, we have a team of five Category SQD Engineers, which are handling 12 different categories in close cooperation with responsible category teams.
This position is preferable to be based in Gothenburg, Sweden or Hallbergmoose, Germany. Alternative locations might be up for discussion.
As Category SQD Engineer, your main responsibilities are to develop and follow up the suppliers in the Category Castings, Metal Raw Material and Wire/Rope/Cables. You will report directly to the Category SQD Manager for Europe.
Your primary working tasks include evaluating and validating potential new suppliers according to defined Category strategies, improving the Supplier base by performing process and/or system audits, and following up on the corresponding action plans. Furthermore, you will support in the supplier escalation process, close interactions with suppliers to secure continuously improvement of their system and manufacturing processes, and drive and support supplier development activities and workshops. You will work in an international environment with extensive cross-functional cooperation both internal and external. Frequent travel is required.
We are looking for you with a Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering and at least five years of experience in manufacturing industry and quality, preferably in production/process engineering or quality engineering. We believe that you have good skills in measuring engineering and print and tolerance interpretation. You have some knowledge of ISO/TS 16949, ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 1st and 2nd party auditor qualification and relevant quality tools and techniques (QAP,APQP,PPAP, root cause analysis, 5S,8D, Lean, etc...) Fluent in English, both verbal and written, is a requirement. Further linguistic skills are considered an additional qualification.
As a person, you are independent and self-going. You have an eye for problems solving and take initiative for potential improvements in the strategical work as well as the day-to-day work. We believe that you have good communication skills and pervious experience within conflict management. You are solution-oriented and enjoy motivated others to strive for a common goal.
