Test Engineer Intrior Comfort Systems

1.      Main Purpose of Role
Ensure that requirements are established, and that products are verified with reliable methods in relation to the stated requirements.
Knowledge of Vector tools (CAN, LIN) CAPL as applies to the Automotive Industy
Ability to write (ATE) automatic-test-equipment programs in Visual-basic, C++, NI-LabView, and or PLC (Siemens, Datalogic, Allen Bradley etc.)
Write technical reports
Build / design, test, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electro-mechanical test-lab equipment such as test-system relay (timers and electrical), electro-pneumatic solenoids/valves, etc.
2.    Main Duties
Work directly with KA personnel (technical and non-technical) for products and applications, including the definition of product test plans and follow up of test results.
Use of typical engineering testing tools, including NI Lab-View, Visual basis, C++, PLC programming techniques to perform DT, DV, PV testing
Lead techs in test methods and use of equipment to complete product validation testing.
Produce written work instruction, disseminate resulting data and write clear concise reports.
Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
Work in a team environment and have a proven track record in collaborating / interacting with engineering.
Create project-specific quality plans, test outlines and internal work instructions.
Execute all other reasonable duties as requested by the Engineering Test-Lab Manager.
Tasks as directed and be able to work unsupervised successfully accomplishing the task at hand.
DFMEAs or 8D problem solving
Design test rigs if needed to support new programs
Coordinates with outside test laboratories if required

3.    Areas of Responsibility
Completion of development engineering tasks as identified in Kongsberg Product Development processes (NPI & PIP).
Produce written work instruction, disseminate resulting data and write clear concise reports.

5.    Competence Profile
Skills, Knowledge, Experience
BS Degree and or MS degree in engineering
Background in Automotive Engineering a plus
Electro-mechanical and control systems engineering experience
BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with 2 or more years hands on experience in related engineering field
Experience with data acquisition, use of sensors, signal conditioning, AutoCAD
A solid working knowledge of NI Labview or Visual basics will be considered a plus
Knowledge of a lab test environment is essential with Solid working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, test equipment and test setups.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong organisation and time management skills – ability to plan and work on multiple, on-going projects
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels
