Test Technician Interior Comfort Systems

 

1.      Main objectives

Test Technician shall perform testing on internal and external products, verify with reliable methods in relation to the stated requirements.
 
 

2.      Areas of responsibility

Reviews project instructions, blue prints, test specifications, procedures and objectives to determine test equipment necessary to complete test project. Reviews findings with Test Engineer or Lab Manager.
Sets up test fixture, fabricates environmental chambers where applicable. Programs environment system where applicable and utilizes computer data acquisition equipment where appropriate. Reviews setup with Test Engineer or Lab Manager.
Verifies all equipment is working correctly initially and throughout testing.
Maintaining consistent and reliable testing activities.
Execution and reporting of both individual testing tasks throughout the test series within the project, including oral and written presentation of test results internally.
Support for the design, project management, marketing and external customers when issues regarding test methods and test results.
·         The laboratory's existing test and measurement equipment, as well as for laboratory-specific software.
Performing test and measurement methods for verification and performance evaluation of new and existing products.
Documentation of methods.

 
 

3.      Personal tasks

Implement physical measurements and analyzes, in which it is included to define problems and develop new or apply available methods.
Use and follow internal and customer specifications and standards.
Caring for sample management including planning, monitoring and reporting.
Inform internal examination of the mission's progress, as well as early information about the differences in the activity occurs.
Participate in the benchmarking of competitor’s products.
In consultation with the test manager, evaluate the purchase of necessary equipment and materials required for laboratory function.

In consultation with the test manager to propose and implement changes in the scope of operations.
Continually keep abreast of new developments and innovations in relevant parts of the test area, as well as within the company business.
Continuously acquire knowledge about the company's products and features.
Arrange that testing tasks are carried out within set timeframes and in accordance with company and customer quality requirements.
Report and evaluate test results in relation to quantitative quality goals.

6.      Competence profile (ideal)

Education:       Associate Technician:  High School Diploma and 1-2 years’ experience.
                        Technician:  Associate Degree and 2+ years’ experience or equivalent.
Sr. Technician:  Associate Degree and 7+ years’ experience or equivalent.
 
Practical experience and skills:
                        Basic knowledge in measurement technology and electronics.
 
Special requirements:  
                        Good command of English, both orally and in writing.
                        Basic knowledge of the development process and test methods.
                        Good knowledge of word processing and calculating with PC.
                        Personal qualities such as being analytical, structured, communicative verbally and in writing and have the ability to take the initiative.
