As part of our drive for Continuous Improvement, we are looking to recruit a Lean Coordinator within the Global Operational Excellence department. This person will work with the Plant Manager, Manufacturing Engineering leaders and shop floor technicians to develop and implement lean manufacturing principles to meet both business unit and plant’s needs. This position will report directly to the Director of Operational Excellence Fluid Transfer Systems, part of the Specialty Products Business Segment.
As a key member of the Epila team; responsible for providing and maintaining the highest production standards, support and leadership to achieve the Plant goals, objectives and targets within SQDCPE.
You will be a trusted strategic partner within the Epila Plant, working to continuously improve our culture of engagement, innovation and teamwork and to help the production teams achieve world class performance by providing exceptional service, and maximising the potential of all our people and processes.
To work with the team to lead and manage change and ensure business KPI’s are met through the involvement and motivation of all employees and the implementation of Lean processes.
You are to realise FTS OPEX strategy by identifying and training, the necessary manpower in the manufacturing facilities by standardisation and optimisation of costing systems. Oversee, manage and facilitate the OPEX strategy to improve efficiency, streamline of processes and reduce costs within the business. Special focus on implementing design principles that ensure we start with best practices Lean principles through the plant. To manage localised activities through the OPEX Director and local plant. To deliver a local CI Road Map, aligned with the FTS budget, and cascaded this down to every manufacturing department. Coach leadership to have an OPEX culture focusing on delivering business results and building competency.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
To co-ordinate the activities of a team of operators to maximize productivity and achieve schedule adherence.
Take an active role in developing the team and the value stream to achieve “World Class” Manufacturing Status using Lean Fundamentals.
To achieve key objectives that meet KA expectations to include (but not limited to) safety, quality, delivery, cost and people.
To ensure that the production schedule is achieved, meeting customer demands.
To work with the Value Stream Manager to improve & drive Lean Flow initiatives and activities throughout the production processes utilizing the KA lean toolkit.
Take an active approach in developing a continuous improvement culture by utilizing PDCA methodology and mentoring the team in problem solving techniques.
Take an active approach in developing annual productivity improvements identified using the Value Stream Map.
Take an active approach in establishing Root Cause Analysis that lead to Productivity and Quality improvements.
Establish, train and drive stringent Standard Work routines to maximize performance and quality.
To develop and work closely with their team to improve the Lean Enterprise.
Communicate Value Stream Improvement progress by utilizing the Visual boards, cell improvement boards and presenting updates at the Production / Team meetings.
Establish objectives and training requirements for shop floor team members.
Ensure team flexibility by developing a multi skilled training program.

Ideally from an Automotive operational background and with a proven ability as a Change Agent, with strong leadership, people management and interpersonal skills and able to translate functional strategy into workable solutions. PC Literate and good communicator.
Strong practical experience within manufacturing or engineering - ideally both. Good working knowledge of financials would be an advantage Good command of written and spoken English, and able to travel if required.
